A Danish builder, at home between countries
I am Danish, and I have lived and worked in Romania since 2005. What began as a business opportunity became a home, a family, and the base from which almost everything I have built since has grown.
I have always been more interested in building things than in trading them. Factories, companies, partnerships, relationships between countries — they all take longer than expected, and they are all worth the patience.
Morten Reimers is a Danish entrepreneur, industrialist and investor based in Romania. He is the founder and Group President of Barkhill Group, an international group with interests in operating businesses, industrial projects and cross-border ventures, and he leads the Falcon Capital and Falcon Defence activities.
As principal of MRO Family Office, he coordinates the family's ownership interests, governance and long-term direction, working with independent professional advisers on legal, tax and estate matters.
His industrial work concentrates on complex development: identifying assets and locations, bringing together investors and technical partners, structuring international cooperation, and carrying projects from concept into operation.
Morten Reimers is President and Co-Founder of the International South Chamber of Commerce, an independent international business organisation headquartered in Bucharest, which promotes trade, investment, business diplomacy and strategic cooperation between the countries of the South, Romania, the European Union and global markets.
Alongside his commercial activity he is engaged in commercial diplomacy, and serves as the Designated Honorary Consul of Brazil in Romania, with seat in Brașov and jurisdiction covering Alba, Sibiu, Prahova and Brașov counties.
